These large and mysterious paintings of necks and heads are a reflection of the artist’s fascination with the sophistication and sensuality of necks.
Splitting his time between France and Shanghai, the influence of both cultures is clear in his 'Neck' Series. The works are elegant, simple and yet striking and exotic at once. The details of the monochromatic wisps of hair he creates using a sfumato technique are contrasted with the bold but muted beauty of the antique fabrics he applies. The works exude a timeless understated grandeur.
